The It’s Not You, It’s Brie Cheese Club

If often distracted with thoughts of an aged sheep’s milk cheese drizzled with chestnut honey, pairing that triple-crème in the fridge with a Blanc de Blancs, or the liveliness of the Texas queso blanco you stuffed with sage into butternut squash last week, then we have the club for you. Kirstin Jackson, cheese and wine educator, and author of the book and blog “It’s Not You, It’s Brie,” and Scardello Cheese have joined forces to create a monthly cheese club that nurtures your inner cheese child (or that of your favorite cheese geek).

Every month, Kirstin picks three of her favorite artisan cheeses from around the world and a condiment or side to compliment. One of her selections will be as ripe and ready as soft heirloom tomatoes in late July, and the other two will hold happy in a fridge for a couple weeks. Then, Scardello packs up the cheese, Kirstin’s descriptions about the cheese written in the lively style of her book and writings for LA Times and NPR, and ships them from their home in Dallas to yours. After the club is shipped, members will also receive an email from Kirstin divulging more information about the club- about a cheese’s maker, more photographs, and one of Kirstin’s original recipes for a cheese in the club. This club could be the most delicious thing you’ve found greeting you once a month on your front porch… ever.

But Wait! There are Two Club Options

The It’s Not You, It’s Brie Single Share

Includes around a pound of cheese and a portion of the side or condiment, Kirstin’s cheese descriptions, and after the club is shipped, Kirstin’s club email with background cheese info and a recipe. The single share option costs $46, plus shipping and packaging.

The It’s Not You, It’s Brie Share the Love Option

Includes around a pound-and-a-half of cheese, two portions of the side or condiment, Kirstin’s cheese descriptions, and after the club is shipped, Kirstin’s monthly club email with more background cheese info and a recipe. Because the cost of shipping 1½ pounds versus 1 pound of cheese is nominal, this shared plan helps to offset the price of shipping to two separate parties who live in close proximity- or can infuse a cheese enthusiast’s life with more It’s Not You, It’s Brie love. The Share the Love plan is shipped to one address, and can be wrapped for one or two parties. It is $66, plus packaging and shipping.

A few more details….

  • Kirstin sends welcome notes to all members telling them when to except their first club. To say thank you for signing up for twelve-month memberships, Kirstin sends members a complimentary signed copy of her book.
  •  Excepting Texas and Oklahoma clubs that are shipped with a local shipping company, clubs are shipped with Fedex 2-day the week upon which the 15th falls . Scardello will send recipients an email with tracking information notifying them when their club has left the shop. Dallas residents have the option of picking up their clubs at Scardello.
  • Members can sign up to receive clubs every month, or every other month. There is a three-month club minimum and shoppers can sign up in 3-month increments. Shipping charges will be calculated when signing up for the club at Scardello Cheese (or by emailing cheeseclub@scardellocheese.com) -before you are charged.

Disclosure: The cheese will be sourced and packed with the utmost care and experience that Scardello has acquired during their successful years of operation and will arrive on your doorstep in optimal condition. Scardello does not accept responsibility for the condition of the cheese if not put the refrigerator on the day of arrival.
